Preto Cardana

The red grape variety comes from Portugal. Synonyms are Espanhol, Pe Tenro, Pilongo, Rosete Espalhado, Tinta Espanhola, Tourigo Do Doura and Tourigo do Douro. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2020, it is a presumably natural cross between Cayetana Blanca x Molar (Negramoll). It was a crossing partner in the new breeding Campanario. The variety is grown in small quantities in the Centro and Norte regions. In 2016, a total of five hectares of vineyard area were designated (statistics Kym Andedrson).
