The white grape variety (also Praca Dura) originates from Portugal. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2020, it comes from a presumably natural cross between Rabigato x Castellana Blanca. It is cultivated in the Norte region of Portugal. In 2016, 169 hectares of vines were reported (Kym Anderson statistics).
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
