The red grape variety originates from France. It is (as with the varieties Poulsard Blanc and Poulsard Noir Musqué) a somatic mutation with reddish berries of the red variety Poulsard (Poulsard Noir). However, the vine is nearly extinct. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
