The white grape variety originates from France. Synonyms are Blussard White, Pelossard, Pelossard Bianco, Pelossard Blanc, Pelossart, Peloussard, Pendoulot, Plant d'Arbois, Pleusart, Ploussard, Plussart, Pulceau, Pulsar Belyi, Quille de Coque and Quille-de-Coq. It is a somatic mutation with white berries of the red variety Poulsard (Poulsard Noir). However, the vine is almost extinct and is now only grown in tiny quantities in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. In 2016, only 0.1 hectares of vines were reported (Kym Anderson statistics).
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
