The red grape variety comes from France. Synonyms are Negrou, Pouquet and Quercy. According to DNA analyses, there is a parent-offspring relationship with the variety Chatus. It was once grown in the Ardèche. In 2016, no stocks were recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).
