The red wine comes from the Peljesac peninsula northeast of Dubrovnik in Croatia and is named after the town of the same name. The terraced vineyards along the coast are exposed to many hours of sunshine. The deep red wine is made from overripe, half-dried grapes of the autochthonous grape variety Plavac Mali. See also under Dingac and Faros, which are made from the same variety.
