The winery is located in the municipality of Weißenkirchen in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Wachau. It was founded in 1937. A wine tavern is attached. A holiday flat is also offered for rent. The farm is run by Alois and Lissy Pomaßl. The vineyards cover six hectares of vineyards in the Buschenberg, Frauengärten, Kaiserberg and Lichtensteinerin vineyards. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay, Neuburger and Müller-Thurgau, as well as Zweigelt. The terraced vineyards, some of which are extremely steep, can largely only be cultivated manually. The vineyards are up to 60 years old, with new vineyards using material from the estate's own old vineyards. The wines are vinified dry and fruity in stainless steel tanks. The premium wines of the house include Riesling Smaragd Ried Kaiserberg and Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Ried Kaiserberg. Fine brandies, grape juice and frizzante are also produced. The winery is a member of Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
