Plonerhof - Erhard & Herta Tutzer

The winery is located in the municipality of Marling (Marlengo) above Meran in the Italian wine-growing area of South Tyrol ( Trentino-South Tyrol region). The former fruit farm with apple cultivation has been converted into a winery. The winery also offers guided tours of the vineyard and cellar followed by wine tastings. Erhard Tutzer also ran a vine nursery for several decades and was active as a grower specialist for PIWI varieties (e.g. Aromera). When selecting the grape varieties, the location, microclimate and soil conditions were primarily taken into account. The four leading varieties are Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Blanc. The vineyards are cultivated in an environmentally friendly manner. Among other things, fertilisation with artificial mineral fertilisers and the use of herbicides are avoided.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
