Platzer Robert

Producer description of "Weinhof Platzer"

The winery is located in the municipality of Pichla near Radkersburg in the Styrian wine-growing region of Vulkanland Steiermark (Austria). The family has been growing wine for several generations. Great importance is attached to environmentally friendly, natural and sustainable production, both in the vineyard and in the wine cellar. For many decades, this has included the use of a bottle washing system, which allows the bottles returned by customers to be reused. The winery is managed by Robert Platzer.

Vineyards & grape varieties

Together with the partner companies, a vineyard area of 35 hectares is cultivated. The most important vineyards are Aunberg, Frutten, Klöchberg and Königsberg (Tieschen) as well as Rosenberg (Straden). These are located in the immediate vicinity of the winery, which makes it possible to deliver fresh grapes quickly during the harvest.
