The red grape variety (also known as Arbia) originates from Spain. Its parentage is unknown. It should not be confused with the Danugue or Valencí Tinto varieties (both with the synonym Planta Mula) due to seemingly suggestive synonyms or morphological similarities. It is suitable for pressing and table grape. The variety is grown in the Castilla y León region. In 2016, 11 hectares of vineyards were designated there (Kym Anderson statistics).
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
