Pinot Salomon

The red grape variety probably originates from Germany. Synonyms are Elbling Schwarz and Schwarzer Elbling. However, it should not be confused with the independent variety Schwarzer Elbling. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it is a presumably natural cross between Pinot x Elbling. However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see Molecular genetics). No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
