The winery is located in the municipality of Göttlesbrunn in the Carnuntum wine-growing region of Lower Austria. It has been managed by Gerhard Pimpel since 2000. The vineyards cover 12 hectares in the Altenberg, Bärnreiser, Hagelsberg, Haidacker, Rosenberg and Schüttenberg vineyards. 80% of the vineyards are planted with the red wine varieties Zweigelt (which has a special status in the winery), Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and 20% with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Welschriesling and Chardonnay. The farm's credo is: "What has not been achieved in the vineyard cannot be made up for in the cellar" The wines should reflect the typicality of the grape variety, location and climate. This is achieved by short pruning, thinning out twice and selective hand harvesting. During vinification, a non-invasive principle applies with as little intervention as possible and gentle processing. Premium wines are the red wines Zweigelt Selektion, Optime (Merlot) and the Cuvée Downhill (Zweigelt, Merlot), as well as the white wine Cuvée Rosenwind (Riesling, Welschriesling). The winery is a member of the winegrowers' associations Rubin Carnuntum Weingüter and Traditionsweingüter Österreich.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
