Pijassou René

The French professor of geography René Pijassou (1922-2007) taught at the Université Michel de Montaigne de Bordeaux III, where he was director of the Institute de Géographie until 1990. He was considered a specialist of the Médoc, on which he carried out numerous studies and published books. These included Regards sur la révolution agricole en Dordogne (1967), Le Médoc: un grand vignoble de qualité (1980), Le Médoc: vignes et vignerons (1990), Château Gruaud-Larose: le vin des rois, le roi des vins (1997) and Château Palmer: noblesse oblige (1997). In his studies he also dealt with the topics of wine evaluation and wine appeal.
