The winery is located in the community of Dürnstein-Oberloiben in the Lower Austrian wine growing region Wachau. It was founded in 2006 by Elisabeth Pichler-Krutzler and Erich Krutzler. Erich Krutzler comes from Deutsch-Schützen in southern Burgenland, where a Blaufränkisch from the vineyard reed was produced at the beginning. From the 2008 vintage onwards, production began in the Wachau. The vineyards comprise six hectares of vineyards in the Frauengärten, Supperin and Kellerberg in the Subriede Wunderburg (Dürnstein), as well as Klostersatz and Loibenberg (Loiben). One third each is owned, leased and from four grape suppliers, who have to coordinate their work in the vineyards. The white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling andPinot Blanc are processed. All grapes are harvested in their entirety in the vineyard by the winery itself. The wines are aged in steel tanks or in large wooden barrels. No additives of any kind and no fining is done.
