The white grape variety is a complex interspecific new breeding between Cabernet Sauvignon x American and Asian species. It contains genes from Vitis vinifera, Vitis rupestris and Vitis amurensis. The hybrid was crossed in Switzerland by Valentin Blattner. The early-maturing, loose-berried vine with pink berries is generally resistant to various fungal diseases. It produces wines with tropical flavours, mainly used as blends but also for single-varietal wines. It is grown in the provinces of British Columbia and Nova Scotia in Canada. In 2016, six hectares of vineyards were designated there (Kym Anderson statistics).
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
