The red grape variety (also Lambrusco dei Vivi) originates from Italy. The parentage is unknown. It is an all-female grape variety. It is grown in tiny quantities in the regions of Tuscany, Sardinia and Trentino. In 2016, a total of only 0.6 hectares of vines were reported (Kym Anderson statistics).
