The winery "Horst & Irene Pelzmann" is located in the municipality of Berg in the foothills of the Hundsheim Mountains, near the town of Hainburg in the Carnuntum wine-growing region of Lower Austria. The traditional family has been growing grapes since 1850. The foundation stone for today's winery was laid by Herbert Pelzmann. His son Horst took over the business in 1993 and continues it today with the use of modern cellar technology. A wine tavern is attached. The vineyards cover 15 hectares on the slopes of the Königswarte and the Spitzerberg. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sylvaner and Müller-Thurgau, as well as the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
