The white grape variety is a new cross between ((Olasz Rizling = Welschriesling x Ezerjó) x (Olasz Rizling x Szürkebarát = Pinot Gris)). The cross was made in 1978 in Hungary by the breeder Karoly Bakonyi. The variety is grown in tiny quantities in the Hungarian areas of Balaton-felvidék, Kunság and Zala. In 2016, a total of only 0.7 hectares of vines were reported (Kym Anderson statistics).
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
