Peabody

The red grape variety is an open-pollinated seedling of the American grape Clinton. This means that at least genes from Vitis riparia x Vitis labrusca are included. The hybrid was selected in 1870 by the private breeder J. H. Ricketts. It is used as wine and table grape. In 2016, no stock was reported (Kym Anderson).
