The red grape variety comes from France. Synonyms are Lou Pogai, Paugayen Petit, Petit Paugayen, Pogai, Pogayen and Pougayen. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it is a parent of Brun Fourca, Feunate, Marsanne de Pays, Mourvaison and Téoulier Noir, but its parentage is unknown. It is an all-female grape variety. No stock was reported in 2010 (Kym Anbderson).
