Producer description of "Panoramaweingut Reinhard Baumgärtner"

The winery is located in Sachsenheim-Hohenhaslach (Württembergisch Unterland area) in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. Its history dates back to 1865. Ernst and Gottlieb Baumgärtner founded their own winery in 1960, and the business has existed in its current form since 2012. All products can be tasted and purchased in the vinotheque. The winery is managed by Reinhard Baumgärtner, who is also responsible for the external operations. After training as a viticultural technician in Weinsberg, his son Josua has been responsible for the cellar since 2020.

Vineyards & grape varieties

The vineyards cover 14 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Kirchberg (Hohenhaslach) and Heiligenberg (Häfnerhaslach). The white wine varieties Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris and Sauvitage, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Lemberger (Blaufränkisch), Muscat Trollinger (Muscat d'Hamburg), Trollinger (Schiava Grossa), Merlot, Cabernet Cubin, Syrah and Malbec (Cot) are cultivated. The vines are cultivated close to nature with reduced yields and no herbicides. Only physiologically ripe and healthy grapes are processed through selective manual harvesting in several passes.
