Panachure

Designation (eigedeutsch Panaschüre) for discoloration in the form of white or yellow spots on plant leaves, which is derived from the French Panachure (meaning multicolour or colourful stripes). This is caused by a lack of chlorophyll (leaf green), in the final stage the leaves can be completely discoloured. This is caused by several types of viruses; see brushwood disease. There are also grape varieties with multicoloured berries and leaves such as red-striped hay and Tressot Panaché.
