Palermo (grape variety)

There are two white varieties named after the capital of Sicily:

1) Interspecific new breeding between Delago x Brilliant. It contains genes of Vitis aestivalis, Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in the USA by Thomas Volney Munson (1843-1913). In 2010 no stock was reported (Kym Anderson).

2) New breeding (also Pastena 1588) between Catarratto Bianco x Aglianico di Puglia. The crossing was done in Italy by Bruno Pastena. In 2010 no stock was reported (Kym Anderson).
