Ox-eye

Name for grape varieties probably derived from very large berries. In the VIVC catalogue it is mentioned as a synonym for the varieties Aramon Blanc, Bicane and Kharistvala Kolkhuri. Ochsenauge is also the German translation of the Turkish variety Öküzgözü. In the Vine Museum of the Leth Franz Winery (Fels am Wagram, Lower Austria) there are a few vines of an (unidentified) variety called Ochsenauge.
