Osennii Ciornai

The red grape variety (also Osennii Ciornai) is a new breed between Alphonse Lavallée x Seyve-Villard 12-365 (Dattier de St. Vallier). In 2016, DNA analyses revealed that the variety listed as father variety Seyve-Villard 12-366 (Pierrelle) was incorrect. It contains genes from Vitis berlandieri, Vitis rupestris, and Vitis vinifera. The crossing of the hybrid took place in Moldova by D. D. Verderevskii. It is mainly used as a table grape. In 2016, eight hectares of vineyard area were reported (Kym Anderson).
