Ornamental tracer

Designation for a group of not necessarily related, but also independent varieties. The confusing homonyms stem from the fact that in old times these were often grown together in the vineyard as a mixed set. Further confusion is caused by different spellings such as Cirfandler, Szirfandler, Szirifandl, Zierfandl, Zierfahnler, Zierfahndler, Zierfandler, Zierifandel, Zinifal, Zirifandl, Zirifandler and others. However, the variety with a similar name, Zinfandel, is not one of them:

Blauer Zierfahndler for Blauer Silvaner and Blaufränkisch
Yellow Zierfahndler for Beerheller
Green Zierfahndler for Silvaner
Red Zierfahndler for Hanns, Roter Silvaner and Zierfandler
