Organic farming

A form of production (also organic farming, ecological farming, ecological-biological farming, ecological agriculture, alternative agriculture) for the production of food and other agricultural products. These are produced on the basis of methods that are as gentle on nature as possible, taking into account the findings of ecology and environmental protection by means of specified guidelines. Among other things, the preservation of biodiversity (species diversity) and the extensive avoidance of pesticides play an important role. Perma-culture is a special form of organic farming with complementary aspects. For viticulture, see Organic viticulture.
