Winery Tokaj Oremus Szölöbirtok és Pincészet (Tokaj Oremus Winery) in the Hungarian wine-growing region of Tokaj-Hegyalja with headquarters and winery in the municipality of Tolcsva. It is owned by a European consortium, in which the Spanish winery Vega Sicilia also participates. The vineyards cover more than 60 hectares of vineyards in the four villages of Tarcal, Tokaj Máriássy, Sátoraljaújhely (Oremus location with 6 hectares) and Tolcsva and are planted with 70% Furmint and 30% Hárslevelü. In addition, aszú grapes are bought from small wine growers. According to the legend, the first Tokaj aszú was produced in 1630 by the court preacher Máté Szepsi-Laczkó (1576-1633) from the historical site of Oremus. Therefore the winery was named after it. The winery is a member of the "Tokaj Renaissance" association and produces all typical Tokaj wines.
