The red grape variety (also Baco 30-15) is an interspecific new breeding between Couderc 4401 (Oiseau Rouge) x Baco 1 (Baco Noir). It contains genes from Vitis riparia, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed by the French breeder François Baco (1865-1947). No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
