Old wine

General but not exactly specified designation for a wine which, unlike a young wine, is at least several years (to decades) old. In contrast, "previous year's wine" or, in Austria, an "old" wine is a wine before the current vintage. In Austria the current vintage is called Heuriger. See also under ageing, bottle-ageing and shelf life as well as oldest wines.
