DOCG area for red and white wines in the Italian Marche
Region. The upgrading took place in 2011, for the remaining wines of the area the new DOC area Terre di Offida
was created. The zone includes the municipalities of Acquaviva Picena, Appignano del Tronto, Castel di Lama, Castignano, Castorano, Cossignano, Montefiore dell'Aso, Offida and Ripatransone, and parts of the municipalities of Ascoli Piceno, Carassai, Colli del Tronto, Cupra Marittima, Grottammare, Massignano, Monsampolo del Tronto, Montalto Marche, Montedinove, Monteprandone, Rotella, San Benedetto del Tronto and Spinetoli in the province of Ascoli Piceno, and the municipalities of Campofilone, Pedaso and Petritoli in the province of Fermo.
The two pure white wines Passerina
are produced from at least 85% of the variety concerned. The Rosso
is produced from Montepulciano
(zum. 85%). For all three wines, a maximum of 15% of other authorised varieties can be used.
