Producer description of "Weingut Richard Östreicher"

The winery is located in the municipality of Sommerach ( Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. The 250-year-old estate was taken over by Richard Östreicher from his father in 1995. He has successively invested in the winery and wine press hall and reduced the number of grape varieties. His passion for great wines made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay was awakened during stays in Burgundy, France.

Vineyards & grape varieties

The vineyards cover 4 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Katzenkopf, including the vineyards Augustbaum, Gewann Katzenkopf, Guckenberg, Hölzlein, Rosen and Rossbach (municipality of Sommerach), Ratsherr (municipality of Volkach), Honigberg (municipality of Dettelbach) and Hallburg (municipality of Sommerach).
