Óbidos

DOC area for red and white wines in the Lisboa region, located in the central west of Portugal. It is named after the city surrounded by a medieval wall. The wines and sparkling wines are mainly made from the varieties Arinto, Bastardo (Alfrocheiro), Camarate Tinto, Fernão Pires, Periquita (Castelão Francês), Rabo de Ovelha, Preto Martinho, Tinta Miúda and Vital. The low-alcohol Vinho Leve is a speciality. Well-known producers are Companhia Agrícola do Sanguinhal, Quinta do Gradil, Quinta dos Lagares, Quinta dos Loridos and Quinta dos Roques.
