The winery is located in the municipality of Straß im Straßertale in the Lower Austrian wine growing region of Kamptal. Attached is a Heuriger. The foundation stone for the quality business was laid by Peter I., who immigrated from the Rhineland and, as a pioneer of the wine-growing region, created long-lasting wines. Today the business is run by father Peter II and son Peter III. The vineyards comprise 32 hectares of vines in the Brunngasse, Gaisberg, Hasel and Heiligenstein areas. They are planted to 70% with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, and 30% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Cabernet Sauvignon and Blauburger. Wine-growing is consistently practised in a natural, plant- and environmentally friendly manner. An important quality criterion is a reduced yield. The grapes are subjected to a gentle whole grape pressing. The musts are cooled in steel tanks and fermented under temperature control. Among the premium wines are several Rieslings and Grüner Veltliner Kamptal DAC and Kamptal DAC Reserve with different vineyard names, as well as the red wine cuvée "Année" (Cabernet Sauvignon, Blauburgunder, Zweigelt), which is aged in barrique. We also produce bottle-fermented sparkling wines and noble brandies (wine, yeast, fruit). In the vinotheque, wines dating back to 1961 are stored, and the winery is a member of the Traditional Wine Estates of Austria.
