Nut fountain

Single vineyard (also known as Nußbrunnen) in the municipality of Hattenheim in the German Rheingau cultivation area. The name is derived from a spring which was formerly surrounded by nut trees and still exists today. The vineyards, which are only slightly inclined to the south to south-east, are situated at 90 metres above sea level with a slope gradient of up to 15%. They cover ten hectares of vineyards on deep loess soils with sandy loam and marl and have an excellent water retention capacity. The Riesling variety is mainly cultivated here. The Eser August, Freiherr Langwerth von Simmern, Georg Müller Stiftung, Ress Balthasar, Schloss Schönborn and Schloss Reinhartshausen, for example, have shares in the site.
