This white grape variety comes from Italy(Sardinia). It is named after the Nuraghe Arrubiu (a large Nuragher building complex from the 15th century BC) near the municipality of Orolli in the province of Cagliari. Amphorae and wine presses found here indicate ancient wine production. The origin (parentage) of the variety is unknown. It should not be confused with the Nuragus or Nuragus Moscadeddu varieties due to morphological or name similarities. No stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
