Name for a vine disease first observed in German vineyards in 1979. Actually it is not a special disease, but a special form of brushwood disease (see in detail there). It is caused by the virus complex ArMV (Arabis mosaic virus), whereby the eponymous variety Kerner reacts in a special way to this disease. See also under vine enemies.
