Noto

DOC area for white wines and red wines in the Italian region or from the island of . It was only created in 2008 and the wines of the formerly independent DOC area Moscato di Noto were transferred. The zone covers the four municipalities of Avola, Noto, Pachino and Rosolini in the province of Siracusa. If the grapes come from classified vineyards, followed by the name of the vineyard can be indicated on the bottle label.

It is believed that wines from this area, like the even more famous "Moscato di Siracusa" (since 2011 ), are the descendants of the legendary "Pollio di Siracusa", an ancient wine mentioned as by the Roman author (23-79).
