The winery is located in the municipality of Burgen (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region of Mosel. It is managed by Ingo Norwig. A guesthouse with holiday flats is attached. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Hasenläufer, Kirchberg and Römerberg (Burgen), Grafschafter Sonnenberg and Kirchberg (Veldenz), Sonnenlay (Mülheim), Kurfürstlay (Bernkastel), as well as Juffer, Mandelgraben and Klostergarten(Brauneberg). They are mainly planted with Riesling, as well as smaller amounts of Müller-Thurgau, Kerner, Ortega, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Dornfelder. Natural viticulture is consistently practised. Quality criteria are low yields and highly ripe, healthy grapes. The white wine grapes are gently and softly pressed, the red wine grapes are subject to the classic mash fermentation. A controlled, cool fermentation takes place. Afterwards, the quality white wines mature in steel tanks, the Prädikat wines and red wines in large wooden barrels. In years with suitable weather conditions, an ice wine is also produced. Grape juices, bottle-fermented sparkling wines and noble brandies (marc, wine, fruit) are also produced.
