Northern Ireland (English Northern Ireland, Irish Tuaisceart Éireann) with the capital Belfast covers 13,843 km² and is part of the "United Kingdom Great Britain and Northern Ireland". It is located in the northeast of the island of Ireland. There is (still) no winemaking here. However, this is indeed the case in the much larger southern part, the Republic of Ireland (which is not part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain) to a small extent. See also under England.

In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
