Ninčuša

The red grape variety originates from Croatia. Synonyms are Bontempo, Bontempo Crni, Lincuša, Mlinčevac, Ninčuvac, Ninčuša Crna, Ninkusa, Plavac Meki, Plavac Rani, Plavac Splitski, Plavatz Rannii, Spliteka, Splitska, Splitska Mala, Veloloza, Veloloza Mala, Veloloza Vela, Vincevac, Vincevica and Vincuša. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it originates from a presumably natural cross between Plavac Mali x Bombino Bianco. However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see Molecular genetics). At the beginning of the 20th century, it was one of the most widespread varieties on the Adriatic coast as a wine-press and table grape variety. No stock was recorded for the endangered variety in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
