The red grape variety comes from Italy. Synonyms are Freisa Blu, Nebbiulìn, Nerét dal Busc Bianc, Nerét di Romano, Nerét 'd Rean, Nerét Gentil, Neretto della Valchiusella, Neretto di Romano. It must not be confused with the varieties Freisa, Neret di Saint-Vincent, Neretta Cuneese, Neretto di Bairo, Neretto Duro or Neretto Gentile, even if synonyms or morphological similarities appear to indicate this. The variety is mainly cultivated in the area of Canavese (Torino) in Piedmont, as well as in Valle d'Aosta. In 2010, however, no stocks were recorded under this name (statistics Kym Anderson).
