The name Neretto (Black) or also Neiret, Neret, Neretta or Neyret is used for almost all genetically different grape varieties in the Italian regions of Valle d'Aosta and Piedmont. DNA analyses carried out in 2009 revealed the following vines cultivated here under these names:
