The red grape variety comes from Romania. It is an open-pollinated seedling of the Cabernet Sauvignon variety, so the father variety is unknown. It was selected by the breeders Gherasim Constantinescu, Elene Negreanu, Margareta Baditescu and Valeria Culcea. The variety produces aromatic red wines. It is grown in small quantities in Romania. In 2016, 0.7 hectares of vines were reported there (Kym Anderson statistics).

In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
