The red grape variety (also Negroamaro Précoce Cannellino) originates from Italy. It is probably an earlier ripening mutation of the red Negroamaro variety. The medium-ripening vine is grown in the Puglia region, where it is allowed in some IGT wines. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
