DOC area for red wine and rosé in the Italian region of Puglia. The vineyards cover 62 hectares of vineyards in all municipalities of the provinces of Brindisi, Lecce and Taranto. Rosso (also known as Riserva) and Rosato (also known as Frizzante and Spumante) must contain at least 90% Negroamaro. If the grapes come from classified vineyards, Vigna may be indicated followed by the vineyard name. Other wines from this area are produced as DOC Terra d'Otranto.
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
