The originally protected PDO area is located in the Kakheti region in eastern Georgia. It extends at an altitude of 400 to 500 metres above sea level on the left bank of the Alazani River in the municipalities of Artana, Jughaani, Laliskuri, Napareuli, Pshaveli and Saniore. The ruby red, dry red wine is made from Saperavi and/or Saperavi Budeshuri. It has a terroir-typical, velvety floral aroma of cherries. The straw-yellow, dry white wine is blended from Rkatsiteli and up to a maximum of 15% Mtsvane Kakhuri. It is characterised by a fruity aroma typical of the terroir.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.Dr. Christa Hanten
