Producer description of "Weingut Georg Naegele - Schloßbergkellerei"

The winery is located in the municipality of Neustadt-Hambach (Mittelhaardt/Deutsche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of In old times it was a (upper tithe cellar), since 1796 it has been family-owned. Today it is run by Eva and Ralf Bonnet, the seventh generation of the family, who are assisted by seniors Volker and Gerda Bonnet. The vineyards cover 14 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Römerbrunnen and Schlossberg (Hambach). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling (35% of the area), Silvaner, Kerner, Scheurebe, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Rieslaner and Gewürztraminer, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Domina, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Dornfelder. In addition, grapes from selected vineyards are purchased from friendly winegrowers.
