myclimate

The non-profit foundation "The Climate Protection Partnership" was founded in 2006 with headquarters in Zurich (Switzerland). Its purpose is to promote climate protection in context through advice, information and corresponding projects. In 2019, over 100 climate projects were managed in 30 countries. These are processed according to various standards under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Gold Standard in accordance with internationally recognised criteria that go back to the Kyōto Protocol (agreement adopted in 1997 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions). The Foundation only supports projects that directly reduce emissions (see decarbonisation). This includes the categories "renewable energies", "energy efficiency" and "reduction of methane emissions in combination with energy use". The emission reductions from the climate protection projects are measured throughout the entire project duration and verified by independent bodies. The farms verified according to the respective criteria are issued a certificate. This is also used by winegrowing enterprises. See also under climate change and sustainability.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
