The white grape variety originates from Tunisia. Synonyms are Grumer Moscatel, Gustet d'Elx, Gustico de Elche, Moscatel de Elche, Moscatel Gustico de Elche, Moscatel d'Alfabega, Moscatellet, Muscat de Pantelleria and Muscat Romain du Maroc. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2018, it comes from a presumably natural cross between Valencí Blanco (Beba) x Muscat d'Alexandrie. The berries have a muscat tone. No stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
